This morning we headed out to do a little fishing.
We loaded up the cars and the kids and
ended up at Sawmill Pond in South Lake Tahoe.
Sophia was ready to help bring in the fish!
The water was so still and quiet except for
the occasional croak of a nearby bullfrog.
Yuk! Worms!
Daddy and Uncle Joe baited the lines and set the kids into action.
Annabella kept Sophia close to her and showed her the ropes!
Sophia was thrilled to be out in the fresh air and wide open space!
Daddy taught Sophia how to cast her first fishing line!
A perfect landing!
Sophia took her fishing very seriously!
If you look hard enough, you can see Uncle Joe
and the kids on the far side of the pond.
Whoa! I think we caught one! Reel it in Sophia!
A Catfish! Just a little guy, but how exciting!
After fishing and lunch, we took the kids bike riding.
We stopped at Rainbow Trout Chamber
and hiked along Taylor Creek.
Leo and Sophia had a close encounter with a curious trout.
We ran into a ranger who was kind enough
to take a family photo for us.
The winding trails and beautiful plant life were
so engaging...the kids ran and laughed and
experienced nature first hand.
Mt. Tallac
Elevation: 9,735 feet
On our way back, we stopped at the local creamery for a cool treat.
Next on our agenda was the Tahoe Trout Farm
(since none of the kids caught any fish at the pond).
There are so many fish down there!
As soon as the line was dropped in the water...wham!
A fish was on the other end of it!
A very full and fun-filled day!
